Dental Hygiene
“It occupies a role of primary importance not only for the removal of stains from the tooth enamel giving the patient an aesthetically more pleasant and brilliant smile but, from a clinical point of view, it is the only true method scientifically recognised in the prevention and treatment of gum and periodontal diseases.”
It consists in the regular removal of tartar above and below the gum performed by highly experienced and graduated operators (dental hygienists) through professional oral hygiene sessions, performed at the dental practice and maintained by the patient on a daily basis at home.
It will also be the hygienist’s responsibility, in a specific session, to motivate, teach and advise the patient on the right brushing movements and the most suitable aids for the case in question.
